Creating a podcast
As with most things, The Path to Owning It was not the only identity option in the running for Provide’s new upcoming podcast. In the ideation and design development phase, there were 4 choices. Follow along below to see a few initial concepts that didn’t make the cut, where we landed, and how the identity has transformed over 3 seasons.
art and creative direction • digital • motion • video • packaging
Concept #1 - Practice Ownership Revealed
Practice Ownership Revealed’s creative was inspired by true crime podcasts with ideas to use the string, pushpins, and torn paper for instagram slideshows to feature guests and quotes. As well as fuzzy recording effects and moving cassette tapes for posting audio clips as video content. The bitmap imagery was a big component of Provide’s brand at the time.
Concept #2 - Next Level Practice
Next Level Practice was completely inspired by retro video games. Playing on the idea of “next level” you could have seen side scrolling motion graphics of the clouds. Clouds and dreams were also a big part of Provide’s messaging at the time. Other elements like coins or flags, could have been introduced and slightly animated as well. This illustrated style was part of the illustration guidelines that I implemented at Provide.
Final Product - The Path to Owning It
This design was inspired by roadmaps and layouts. Taking the name The Path to Owning It to heart, but also representing that there are many paths and ways to be successful in practice ownership.
The Path to Owning It - Season 2
When revamping creative, we wanted to keep the path like movement but update things to coincide with where the Provide brand was at the time. This season also focused on adding variety to our cover art templates.
The Path to Owning It - Season 3
Season 3 was all about updating to keep up with Provide’s new branding. We also wanted to simplify things, as we were diving deeper into posting video content on TikTok. You still get that suggestion of a path if you focus on the white space.
Podcast Guest Gift
Podcast guests would receive a thank you gift. A large RTIC cooler would contain a branded Yeti thermos, Yeti slim can sleeve, iron cross thank you card that folds out and houses stickers and a customized notecard.
